My mission

My name is Caroline Hudson, and I am proud to introduce myself as the owner of The Kitchen Table Teacher UK. I founded this company out of a passion for empowering parents to find joy, confidence and purpose for themselves and their children, as lifelong learners and members of the wider community.

As a working mum of three, I understand many of the challenges, insecurities and dilemmas involved in modern parenting ; juggling relationships, work and parent guilt. My goal is to provide inviting, open and helpful opportunities where parents of all backgrounds can develop their knowledge and understanding of Primary School learning, so that they can be confidently involved in developing their child’s potential. Through informal meet-ups, I explain concepts, expectations and methods which are currently in use so that parents can positively engage with their child’s learning and actually enjoy the process!

The sessions deliver lots of background knowledge too and lead to parents developing the understanding to feel that they can “have a go.” They benefit from sharing their own ideas and experiences. Parents bond in a new way. They feel less lonely, more connected and more positive about the future.

Education is always evolving, and parents often feel unsure of the best way to help. With this unique approach, I aim to help parents feel involved and confident so that learning is effective, helpful and enjoyable for all.

I understand that every parent and family has differing needs, and I aim to tailor everything I do to cater for them. I use a range of resources, from downloadables, apps and websites to practical aids which can be made or adapted from household items. Venues, days and times can be flexible so that parents have a choice about how and when to join in.

With over 30 years’ experience as a Primary school teacher and leader in West Yorkshire, I am dedicated to developing the chance for ALL children and their families to be the best that they can be, and giving them the tools to make confident choices.

I invite you to join me on this journey and experience the transformative power of education in a way that you never thought possible. Together, let's empower families to enjoy life now and in the future.

My short courses for parents of Primary School children are held in small, friendly groups around my kitchen table in Guiseley, Leeds - as well as in schools, community settings and online.

Each time, over a cuppa and a cake, you will learn more about how to support your children’s learning, develop your understanding of how and what they are being taught in school, and even make new friends.
